Wherever we find the noun “righteousness,” or the verb to “justify” in the book of Romans, we are reading some variation of the Greek term dikaiosune. This word occurs with extraordinary frequency in Paul's writings, usually alongside its dance-partner pistis.
So, for example:
“...to prove in the present that he himself is righteous and that he justifies
